I am an avid fly fisherman concentrating on San Diego Bay on
my boat EN LA MOSCA. Since purchasing my
boat I set out to become a Licensed Captain and Fishing Guide for San Diego Bay
and I finally completed all of the days on the water, 360, passed the Coast
Guard examination, completed the licensing process and received my guide
License from the California Department of Fish and Game. I am certified in First Aid and CPR as well.
I have fished on numerous long range trips out of San Diego,
11 trips to Punta Colorada in Baja, CA, stripers in the Delta and New York
Harbor and fished Key West on the fly and off shore. I fish the La Jolla and Point Loma Kelp Beds
often as well.
My primary career has been in the field of Athletic Training
and Sportsmedicine. I am a retired
Certified Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapy Assistant. I have worked in Professional Baseball as the
Head Athletic Trainer for the San Diego Padres; I have been to two Olympic
Games as an Athletic Trainer and traveled to Russia with the United States
Freestyle Wrestling Team.
You can find my fishing reports on San Diego Bay and the in=shore kelp beds at Orvis News.
I am also a passionate learner of fine furniture building
with two blue ribbons at the most recent San Diego County Fair. I take courses at Palomar College during the
week to expand my skill and creative process.
I will have a link to a separate web site soon.
With all of the above life experiences, nothing compares to
fishing San Diego Bay. My passion is fly
fishing but conventional light tackle is always an option with me. There is nothing like watching the three
Osprey in the Back Bay hunt for fish or take one away from you as you get it to
the surface. The working Terns and the
breaking fish can lead to some great experiences every day.
Come fish San Diego Bay with me,
Captain Bob
