I am an avid fly fisherman concentrating on San Diego Bay
on my boat, En La Mosca. I'm fully
licensed and am certified in first aid and CPR as well.
My experience includes numerous long-range trips out of
San Diego; 11 trips to Punta Colorada in Baja, California; striper fishing in
the Sacramento Delta and New York Harbor; and fishing Key West on the fly and
offshore. I often fish the La Jolla and
Point Loma kelp beds as well.
My primary career has been in the field of athletic
training and sportsmedicine. I am a
retired Certified Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapy Assistant. I have worked in professional baseball as the
head athletic trainer for the San Diego Padres; I have been to two Olympic
Games; I have traveled to Russia as an athletic trainer with the U.S. Freestyle
Wrestling Team. I am currently writing "Conditioning
for Angling" articles for www.OrvisNews.com. You can also find my fishing reports on San
Diego Bay at Orvis News as well.
I am also a passionate student of fine wood working with
two blue ribbons at the most recent San Diego County Fair. I take courses at Palomar College during the
week to expand my skill and creative process.
I will have a link to a separate web site soon.
With all of these life experiences, nothing compares to
fishing San Diego Bay. My passion is fly
fishing, but conventional light tackle is always an option with me. There is nothing like watching the three
Osprey in a remote stretch of the Bay hunting for fish or snatching one from
you as you get it to the surface.
Migrating terns, diving on bait fish, make every day on the water an
adventure.
Come fish San Diego Bay with me,
Bob
