My Father-in-law and I met Captain Bob at the Chula Vista boat
ramp just before sunrise. It only took a few minutes to launch
the boat and get underway. As we moved out of the marina, the winds were
calm and the sun began to rise over the mountains to the
east. What a beautiful morning to be out on the bay fishing. It
didn't take long to get to one of Captain Bob's favorite spots. He gave
us the option of using a fly rod or spinning reel and we both chose to use
spinning reels as we were use to using this type of equipment back in NY.
On my first cast out, I latched into a 14 inch spotted bay bass and boy did he
put up a good fight on the light tackle. It reminded me of the smallmouth
bass we use to catch back in NY. Before long we were both reeling them in
one after another. As the fishing slowed down in one spot, Captain
Bob would move us to another one of his favorites he has found over the
years, offering refreshments and snacks while we were underway.
By late morning we returned to the dock tired, but happy about all the
fish we had caught. Koodoos to Captain Bob for a great fishing trip.

Hi
Captain Bob,
My
sons, Alex (6yrs) and Edwin (8 yrs), had the time of their lives fishing with
you on your boat, En La Mosca, last Thursday 8/11/2011. You have a great
disposition as a guide with adults and a wonderful sense of humor and patience
with children -- even working with Alex on his bait casting! The boys have many
great memories, pics, and videos of their 2 dozen catches of corvina and spotted
bay bass in San Diego Bay.
My
trip with you the next day in the kelp beds was truly awe-inspiring and unique
-- nowhere else in the world have I ever fly fished among such amazing natural
and man-made sights...sea lions, seals, porpoises, brown pelicans, our heroes
the U.S. navy SEALS, navy warships, and navy nuclear submarines! I will be back
in San Diego in the near future for business (and vacation) and will be sure to
set aside a day for mako shark fishing on the fly -- I can't wait! Take care
and see you soon again on the En La Mosca in the future!
Best
regards,
Larry Quang and sons, Alex and Edwin
I spent two days on the bay with Captain Bob Day and had
a blast; July 2nd, with my brother and July 3rd with my daughter. Both days
were AWESOME, but the day fishing with my thirteen year old daughter was EPIC!
She caught the most fish on that day, than any other day of her young life.
What we liked the most was CATCHING FISH. Not going here or there, Captain Bob
put us on fish QUICKLY. Although, my daughter and I were fishing plastics,
Captain Bob was fishing the fly and catching fish, that way, too. Fun to watch.
If you want to CATCH fish and NOT just go fishing, call the Captain and make
sure to book your next trip with him! Thanks Bob, I will see you again on July
31 with my ten year old daughter. Tight lines.

July 31, 2011: Just spent another day on the bay with Bob
Day (Captain Bob Day, that is) with my ten year old daughter and she killed it
out there. Again, Captain Bob put us on fish quickly and my daughter had the
best day of fishing, ever. She caught fish left and right, with hook up after
hook up, after hook up! Bob also gave her a quick lesson on fly fishing and she
caught her first fly rod fish today. If you want to just go fishing, don't hire
Bob. NOW if you want to go CATCHING, better book him sooner rather than later.
Good times, awesome knowledge of San Diego Bay and he is GREAT with kids.
Thanks Captain and tight lines!

En La Mosca Adventures delivers once again!
Faced
with a possible client skunk midway into the charter using his total
understanding of bottom structure, tidal surge and current action in the Back
Bay, Captain Bob my expert guide, went into action. He relocated the boat over
an old open water ship anchorage. Both the first and second cast produced the
areas signature fish the scrappy Spotted Bay Bass. Another move produced three
chunky Spotties and my first of the season Bonefish which Captain Bob
skillfully netted just as the fish spit my fly. This beautiful fish was
released without ever being touched by human hands.
I'd
like to take this opportunity to thank Captain Bob and En
La Mosca Adventures for a job well done.
